Post messages on a timer

Rotate reminders into chat automatically - socials, rules, whatever you repeat.

Timed messages are the things you would otherwise type every hour: your socials, your rules, where the Discord is.

1. In the app, open Chat > Chat Messages in the sidebar - Timed Messages is the first tab. (Older app versions: Channel Settings > Timed Messages.)
2. Click Add.
3. Give it a Name and type the Message.
4. Repeat every (minutes): how often it should post.
5. Only if chat has been active: how many chat lines there must have been in the last 5 minutes before it may post, so it stays quiet when chat is quiet. 0 posts regardless.
6. Post on: tick the platforms it is for, or leave them all unticked for every chat.
7. Click Add to save it.
8. Running more than one? Open Timed Message Limits, also under Chat, and set Minimum gap between timed messages - in seconds, so 900 is 15 minutes - or they can post one straight after another.

Timed messages do not check whether you are live. What keeps them out of an empty chat is Only if chat has been active - 5 lines by default. Set it to 0 and a timer posts even when nobody is there (except on YouTube, which only has a chat while you are live). Turning on Only post when a real person has chatted recently, in Timed Message Limits, makes even those wait for at least one real message - other bots never count.

Three or four on a long rotation reads as helpful. One every five minutes reads as spam, and people tune it out.
