The GriddleBot desktop app is free. The desktop app is where you set up and run GriddleBot, so you'll need it for most features. Moderation, commands, points, overlays and analytics are configured in the app and then run in the cloud, so your PC does not need to stay on. It also does the things a browser is not allowed to do - reach OBS, your audio devices, your hotkeys and your files. Some things also work in your browser: your overlays, your public pages, Discover, Who to Raid, Collabs and your account settings.

What the app adds

1. OBS control: switch scenes, start and stop streaming or recording, toggle sources and drive the replay buffer
2. A soundboard with global hotkeys, and chat triggers so viewers can fire sounds, scenes or keypresses
3. Voicemeeter audio routing with per-application mixing and live metering
4. RTMP relay, so you can send your phone's camera straight into OBS
5. Clip and VOD downloads for your own Twitch and Kick content, at full quality rather than the 480p the website can proxy
6. Native Kick clipping from your own signed-in session, which the cloud cannot reach
7. Stream labels written to text files for OBS, and live captions transcribed on your own PC
8. Macros, global hotkeys and offline voice commands
9. Smart lights that react to your stream: WLED, Philips Hue, Nanoleaf and LIFX
10. The same dashboard as the website, running natively

Installing and linking

1. Windows only today. macOS and Linux builds are planned.
2. Free on both the Free and Pro plans, with no separate purchase
3. Links to your account with a short device code — your password is never stored on the machine
4. Updates download in the background and install when you are not live — never mid-stream, and never while the replay buffer is armed
5. You can sign out of the device from the website at any time
