Connect your Discord server

Go-live announcements, welcome messages and roles for your members.

GriddleBot joins your server as a bot and can announce your streams, welcome new members and hand out a role.

1. Open Discord in the sidebar.
2. Click Add to server. Discord asks which server and which permissions.
3. Pick your server. You need Manage Server permission on it to do this.
4. Approve the permissions and you come back to GriddleBot.
5. Choose the channel for go-live announcements.
6. Optionally turn on welcome messages and a role for new members.

The bot's role in Discord must sit ABOVE any role it hands out. Discord refuses to let a bot assign a role higher than its own, and it fails silently from the member's side - they simply never get the role.

Test the go-live announcement by starting a stream, not by guessing. It fires on the real event.
