Turn on chat games
Trivia, riddles, scrambles and more, playable on command or on a timer.
Games start from a chat command, or on their own - on a timer, or during a Twitch ad break.
- In the app, open Points & Games > Chat Games in the sidebar. (Older app versions: Channel Settings > Chat Games.)
- Turn on Enable chat games, then under Games turn on the ones you want.
- Set Points for the winner - 0 means bragging rights only.
- Optionally turn on Run games on a timer, under Start games on a timer, and set Roughly every (minutes).
- On Twitch, you can also turn on Do something during ad breaks and Start a game.
- Save, then start one in your own chat - !trivia, !riddle, !scramble and so on. Games without their own command start with !game and the game's name, e.g. !game math.
Only you and your mods can start a game from chat. When a viewer tries, the bot tells them only mods can start one.
Starting a game during Twitch ad breaks gives chat something to do while the ads run, which is when a channel usually goes quietest.
