Stop answering the same question every stream

The bot answers what are your specs and when do you stream, so you do not have to.

Every channel has five questions that arrive every single stream. Auto-FAQ watches for them and answers in chat, and it can also tell you which questions chat keeps asking that you have no answer for yet.

1. Turn it on

  1. In the app, open Chat > Auto-FAQ in the sidebar. (Older app versions: Channel Settings > Auto-FAQ.)
  2. Turn on Enable Auto-FAQ. It is off until you do, and nothing else on the page works without it.
  3. Leave Answer in chat automatically on, or turn it off if you only want to collect questions for now.
  4. Check Notice questions I don't have an answer for is on (it is by default).
  5. Save.

2. Add an answer

  1. Go back to All settings and open FAQ Answers, also under Chat.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Question: write it the way a viewer would type it, e.g. what are your specs.
  4. Answer: write the reply exactly as you want it to appear in chat.
  5. Extra words to match on: add the other words people use - specs, setup, pc, rig.
  6. Leave Enabled on and click Add to save it.

3. Let chat write the rest for you

  1. After a few streams, open FAQ Answers and click What chat is asking.
  2. A question appears there once chat has asked it enough times. Suggest one after it's asked, on the Auto-FAQ page, sets how many - 2 by default.
  3. Click Answer this, type the reply and click Save answer to turn it into a real FAQ, or Dismiss to stop it being suggested.

What chat is asking stays empty forever unless Enable Auto-FAQ and Notice questions I don't have an answer for are both on. It only collects from the moment they are - it cannot look back at chat from before.

If the bot answers things it should not, RAISE How close a question must be - higher matches fewer questions but gets them right more often. If it misses obvious ones, lower it a little and add more Extra words to match on. Channel-wide cooldown (seconds) is what stops the bot machine-gunning replies during a busy moment.
