Let the bot chat back with AI

Give the bot a personality and your own API key, and it replies when mentioned.

This uses YOUR API key with an AI provider, so the replies are billed to you directly and you control the spend.

1. Create an account with an AI provider and generate an API key.
2. Open Engagement in the sidebar and find AI Chat.
3. Pick your provider and paste the key. It is encrypted and never shown again.
4. Choose a personality, and how strongly it leans into it.
5. Choose when it replies: when mentioned, only on the ai command, or off.
6. Set a maximum replies per minute so a busy chat cannot run up your bill.
7. Save, then say the bot's name in your chat to test.

What this costs is tokens on your own key. A short reply is roughly 300-600 tokens, so a busy stream answering 200 messages runs about 60,000-120,000 tokens. Raising Effort roughly doubles the reply half.

Mix in a second personality at a low percentage - a friendly bot with a little Snarky reads far more naturally than either on its own.
