Make channel points do something

Turn a Twitch or Kick channel-point reward into a song request, a sound, a shoutout or points.

Rewards links a channel-point reward to something GriddleBot does when somebody redeems it - one you already have, or one GriddleBot makes for you.

1. Create the reward on your platform

  1. On Twitch: open your Creator Dashboard, then Viewer Rewards, then Channel Points, then Manage Rewards & Challenges.
  2. Click Add New Custom Reward.
  3. Give it a name and a cost. The name is how GriddleBot finds it, so make it something you will recognise.
  4. If the action needs the viewer to type something - a song, a message - turn ON "Require Viewer to Enter Text".
  5. Save the reward.

If the action needs text and the reward does not ask for it, the redemption arrives with nothing in it and nothing happens. This is the single most common reason a reward action "does not work" - a song request with no song is not a song request.

2. Point GriddleBot at it

  1. Open Rewards (in the app's sidebar, or Points & Rewards > Rewards on the website). Your channel's rewards are listed there.
  2. Find your reward and press Give it an action. (Not listed - for example the platform isn't connected? Use Add an action by reward name, and type the name exactly. Capitals do not matter; spelling and spaces do.)
  3. What it does: pick the action - a song request, a sound, points, a shoutout, a message, a game, a scene and so on - then fill in the box that appears for it, such as How many points or Which sound.
  4. Save it.

GriddleBot matches the reward by its TITLE. Rename the reward on Twitch later and the link silently stops working - nothing errors, redemptions just stop doing anything. If you rename it, come back and update it here too.

Test it yourself before a stream. Redeem your own reward and watch chat.

Rewards can also create the reward for you with Create a reward Griddle owns. A reward Griddle owns can be refunded automatically when its action fails, and it asks the viewer to type something whenever the action needs it.
