Set up the points shop
Let viewers spend the points they earn on things you decide.
Viewers earn points for watching and chatting. The shop is where they spend them, and you decide what is in it.
1. Turn the economy on
- In the app, open Points & Games > Points in the sidebar (older app versions: Channel Settings > Points & Economy). It starts on All platforms - pick one platform at the top only if you want it different there.
- Turn on Enable points.
- Set What they're called - Horns, Coins, whatever suits your channel. This name appears everywhere viewers see it.
- Set Per chat message, and Per interval, just for watching together with How long an interval is (minutes).
- Save.
2. Add things to buy
- Go back to All settings and open Points Shop, also under Points & Games.
- Click Add.
- Give it a Name, a Description and a Cost in points.
- Leave I have to mark it done on for anything you do by hand - pick my next game, choose my hat. Those purchases wait for you in the Redemption Queue. Turn it off for things that happen instantly.
- Click Add to save it. Viewers see the shop with !shop and buy with !redeem followed by the item's name.
Points are spent the moment somebody buys. If an item is something you have to do and you cannot do it, open Redemption Queue and use Refund - it gives back the points and the stock. Nothing takes points back on its own.
Start with three or four cheap items. An empty shop teaches viewers that points are pointless, and a shop full of expensive things does the same.
