Make your lights react to your stream

Flash the room on a raid, sub, tip or channel-point redemption - locally, over your own Wi-Fi.

Two halves: your lights get added in the desktop app, and the rules about when they fire live on the website. GriddleBot talks to your lights directly over your Wi-Fi, so nothing about your home lighting goes through anyone's cloud.

1. Add your lights in the desktop app

  1. Open the desktop app and go to Lights and Reactions.
  2. Click Scan network. It looks for WLED, Nanoleaf, Hue and LIFX on your Wi-Fi.
  3. Anything found can be added straight from the list.
  4. If a light does not turn up, add it by hand from the card for that brand further down.
  5. WLED and Nanoleaf need the light's IP address, which you will find in that brand's own app or in your router.
  6. For Hue, press the round link button on the Bridge first, then click Pair and add within 30 seconds.
  7. Hue then asks which lights: all of them, one room, or a single bulb. Pick one and click Add these lights.
  8. For Nanoleaf, hold the power button on the controller for about 5 to 7 seconds until the LED flashes, then click Pair and add.
  9. LIFX needs nothing typed at all - click Find and add LIFX lights.

2. Say when they should fire

  1. On the website, open Lights and Reactions.
  2. Add a reaction and choose what sets it off: a Stream event, a Channel-point redemption, a Chat command, or an OBS event.
  3. For a stream event, pick follow, sub, raid, cheer or tip, and set a minimum if you only want the big ones.
  4. Choose the Lights action.
  5. Pick a solid colour, or an animation - flash, pulse, strobe, rainbow or police.
  6. Set brightness, how many flashes, and how long to hold.
  7. Leave Restore my normal lighting afterwards ticked.
  8. Save, then use Test now to watch it happen without waiting for a real raid.

Untick the restore option and an alert leaves your room stuck on whatever colour it flashed. You will notice at the end of the stream, sitting in a red room.

Hue pairing is two clicks, not one: the first pairs with the Bridge and reads what you have, the second adds the lights you picked. If you want the one lamp behind you flashing and nothing else, choose it by name rather than All my Hue lights - the room and bulb options are there for exactly that.

Govee is not connectable yet - its card says Coming soon. The four that work today are WLED, Hue, Nanoleaf and LIFX.

Add a Chat command reaction called !color with a Lights action and viewers can set the colour themselves - !color blue, !color #ff00aa, !color rainbow. For getting Alexa or Google Home to announce a raid, the longer reference guide covers the webhook route.
