Set up song requests

Let viewers queue songs with !sr, on YouTube or Spotify, and play them on stream.

YouTube works immediately with no setup. Spotify needs about two minutes of one-time work, and Spotify Premium.

YouTube (no setup)

1. Open Song Requests and turn it on.
2. Viewers type !sr followed by a link or a song name.
3. Songs appear in the queue on that page, and you play them there.

Playing songs on stream

1. On the Song Requests page, open Browser source (OBS) and click Copy.
2. In OBS add a Browser source and paste the link.
3. The player auto-advances through the queue and plays a fallback playlist when it is empty, so there is never dead air.

That player link is a secret URL, the same as an overlay link. Anyone with it can hear your player. Keep it out of screenshots.

Spotify

1. You need Spotify Premium. The free tier cannot queue songs.
2. On the Song Requests page, open Sources and follow the Spotify steps there — it walks you through creating a small Spotify app.
3. Do not skip the User Management step: Spotify blocks any account not on that list, and it lets you sign in BEFORE telling you.
4. Paste the Client ID and Client Secret in, save, then click Connect Spotify.

Spotify needs something already playing to queue into. If you get "No active Spotify device", press play in Spotify first.
